Since its inception, the Australia Africa Chamber of Commerce has been focused on building a strategic, quality practice.

The Australia Africa Chamber of Commerce brokers relationships between our two continents through trade delegations and briefings with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and respective Trade and Investment Centres, major conferences such as "IMARC", Africa Down Under and the Africa Australia Infrastructure Conference and engagement through Africa Connect and other networking events.



Duncan Harris, an abiding interest in aiding and abetting trade and investment in Africa.

He is a former Special Advisor to the Commonwealth Business Council in London and the Australian representative for the UK based Business Council for Africa.

It was through this latter relationship that he has negotiated the recent Partnership Agreement between the AACC and the BCA which in turn has since been enhanced by its merger with Invest Africa resulting in an Africa wide network of significant contacts and connections now available to Members.

He has extensive commercial interests stemming from his experiences in Private Equity, Alternate Finance and Corporate Consulting. He is a Founder/Director of the Mossgiel Group notable for its Corporate Advisory work and is a major shareholder in Kilmour Investments.

Heddie Goldberg
Vice President

Heddie was appointed the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Botswana in Victoria, in 2007, a committee member of the AABC in the same year, and a committee member of the AACC since its inception, and Vice President in 2018.

Heddie has been a director and board member of companies involved in the Earth Moving industry as well as being responsible for the management of Retail and Commercial Property investments in Australia, She has spent long periods of time over many years, in both Nigeria and Botswana, where she was a director of companies in the Construction Industry. Heddie has also spent time in Ethiopia assisting with the establishment of a business exporting by-products of the cattle industry. Heddie has recently been elected an Honorary Fellow of The Institute of Information Management – Africa

Boban Tomic

Boban is a senior international FMCG executive and Managing Director with P&L, manufacturing and commercial management experience across four continents (Africa, Australia, Asia and Europe). In Africa, Boban was based in Cape Town, South Africa and Accra, Ghana.

He was employed with Paris based CFAO Group, part the Toyota Tsusho Corporation until his recent return to Australia. CFAO is the most diversified business in Africa and operates in 53/54 African markets. Boban has collaborated extensively with reputable international businesses and brands such as Distell, Nivea, BIC, Remy Cointreau, Campari, Carlsberg and many others. He was also employed with BAT, Imperial Brands plc, Philip Morris International Limited and the Finatrade Group.

He has a long track record in the following areas: Strategic Visioning, Leadership, Corporate Planning, Organisational Change Management, Business Transformation, Sales, Distribution Capability Building, Supply Chain & Operations, Brand Building and CRM solutions.

Boban holds an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (Sydney), a Bachelor of Commerce-International Marketing degree from the University of Western Sydney, and completed INSEAD Executive Education in Singapore.

Adam Goldner is a lawyer specialising in corporate and commercial law.  Adam advises clients on a range of corporate and commercial law areas and has lived and worked in Tanzania, advising a broad range of African and international clients on a variety of matters, focusing on:

  • mergers and acquisitions

  • business structuring and restructuring

  • corporate governance

  • private equity and capital market transactions

  • commercial transactions

  • regulatory compliance

  • projects

Adam is passionate about connecting Australian and African businesses.

Julian served as a Managing Director and Partner of The Litmus Group for over 10 years and a board member of PPB Advisory. Julian was a Director of Cordence World Wide a global consulting partnership with 2,800 consultants across 60+ locations. Julian worked with the international team to develop sales and growth strategies for the 8 member firms.

Roger Philips

Roger Phillips hails from South Africa. He has a passion and love for the African continent and its people.  He is a past vice president and president of the AACC. Roger has completed a Masters in Business at Swinburne University in Melbourne and is a former president of the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship at Swinburne University. Career highlights include manager business development for SAAB in London, UK, Director of Commercial at Open Universities Australia, Director of New Business for Vocation Education and Training Australia, a subsidiary of Holmesglen, TAFE NSW, TAFE South Australia, and Victoria University.

In more recent times Roger has developed a small export business to Nigeria and has been co-founder and director of SafetyTech South Africa which works closely with the South African Police Service and other local law enforcement authorities across Gauteng and the Western Cape. Roger spends significant time in South Africa.

Andrew has over 25 years at senior management level in mining, agro-forestry, and education including Asia-Pacific and remote Australian locations. Wide, hands-on skills, knowledge and experience in the provision of services, support strategies, and in areas of corporate social responsibility, license to operate, management in a foreign country and indigenous locations. 

Andrew also owns his consulting firm specialise in consulting and developing metrics on country risk and opportunity, focusing on mining. Developing networks in mining in Australia and generally in Laos on behalf of consulting businesses.

Nesan was born and raised in South Africa and his expertise lies in the fields of Business Strategy, Negotiation, Gender Intelligence, Coaching & Leadership development. He is a former Global President of Mars Venus Executive Training – USA.  With over 27 years of experience in Executive Management and Leadership roles, he has worked with some of the largest blue-chip companies in South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. He has managed multi-billion dollar businesses in Australia as Local CEO with ANZ Bank, Regional Executive with NAB and Regional Head of Deposits for CBA.  

Today he is a Business Coach and Consultant to some of the leading CEOs and Leaders in Australian Business and overseas. Nesan conducts speaking engagements, seminars and workshops around the world teaching Strategic Selling, Change Management and Gender Intelligence. His clients cover a wide spectrum of industry sectors including Banking & Finance, Accounting, Construction, Medical, Mortgage Broking, technology and government. Nesan’s clients are represented across the globe from USA, South Korea, Japan, China, Australia and South Africa.

Nesan holds a Senior Executive MBA from Melbourne Business School, completed the General Manager Program from Australian Graduate School of Management, holds a BA Degree with triple majors from the Univ. of Kwazulu Natal (South Africa), studied Strategic Innovation in UC Berkeley, European Business at Otto Beisham School of Management in Germany as well as various Executive certification from the Australian Graduate School of Management, Monash Business School, Melbourne Business School and the IMIA Graduate School of Leadership. He is a Global Master Trainer with Extended DISC and certified practitioner of NLP.
